Michigan's Energy Use Tripled (new window)
Michigan's overall energy use has tripled, and some organizations across the state are looking for a solution. Environment Michigan announced a report called "a new energy future" at the State Capitol. The new platform calls on political candidates to support polices that will reduce oil consumption, save energy and increase renewable resources. Candidates are speaking out about the need to address the future of energy in Michigan. Daniel Leland, Field Organizer for environment: "This new congress coming in has got huge potential to really take strides to turn around the direction we have been going in, energy policy in our state and in our country." Over sixty different candidates have signed in support of the measure, saying they agree with the new energy plan. |
